Moving to Co this fall and new to airguning

I am looking at the Umarex Origin and coming from a costal altitude I would like to know the better caliber at around Woodland Park altitude (8100ft).  I doubt that there will be accuracy over 50yds needed as it will be pest control on homestead style gardening.  I am figuring slugs.
 As I am in my golden years (late 70s) and sleep patterns vary wildly I will be able to do both day and night control while the others go to work ( another one of those bad four letter words ) LOL.
