Mrod mount and Optic

Hey all,

OK so the Mrod showed up and now it needs some glass. Didn't have any luck locally so far so I guess internet. I was looking at the magmount 40 base and Hawke Airmax EV 4-12x50 from airscopes.com. I wanted to keep this in the 200-300 range for mount and scope. Am I on the right track or is there better options for me in this range?

Jeff don't believe you can put a "one piece" mount like Richards nice mag40 on your Mrod? If you do Bro. how would the magazine fit into the breech, great scope but I'd go with a nice two piece mount(rings) on the gun.

I have a 1 piece mount on mine that works perfectly. It was designed for the purpose. I dont know what brand or model it is because it has no markings on it. But I bought it from Jonnyreb. I bet he would know where it came from.

As I said "like" the mag40 one piece, an off set short base may work, but two piece mounts/rings are so much easier an lighter.

Gonna shoot paper? Bench rest a lot? Or strictly hunting?

If hunting, your scope choice is more than adequate.

If rested long distance shooting is in the mix, you may want to get more powerful glass.
