When you sight in at 50 or 60 yards, you then have an inch or so of vertical variation to deal with at short range, right? So you just use a range finder so you know what to hold?My short range zero keeps my vertical variation minor enough I can ignore it for the short ranges I typically shoot at pushing my hold over out to where I would not typically shoot.
My PRod that I shoot rats with is zeroed @ 15yds where most of the rats are.
27 yards on all of them. Why? Because that's the distance from my fence to the target with my back against the gate lol. Seems to work well for my guns. Based solely on the fact that it seems to be a roundabout average for most of my shot distances.
