Losing one happens Mike even with a good shot
January 18, 2021 - Monday MorningI went back to the new permission this morning. I stopped in a little Cedar thicket where I saw a squirrel last time out. I sat for about 30 minutes and moved on. Next, I took a stand inside the Big Deer Blind I came upon last hunt. I jumped a squirrel on my way there. After sitting about 30 minutes, I saw movement north of the blind. As I watched, a second one came into view. Then, behind me, a Fox Squirrel started barking [in a tree]. Because of the roof of the Big Deer Blind, I could not see it. The two I had seen disappeared - POOF! About an hour later one of the two reappeared but never came any closer. It was getting close to noon and lunch time. Maybe better luck next time if I get there earlier.

And their knowledge of airgun effective range is very keen too. Next time out, I plan to take a stand where I saw squirrels and be facing the Big Deer Blind. That should fool them totally. Right?? LBNTO [Laugh But Not Too Loud!] <-- Those squirrels hear real well.
