This is one of 13 I shot in the last 4 days. Lots of young ones, must have fledge recently. The young ones would beg the adults for food. When they sat still for a few seconds it was lights out. All of the were taken with my 2400KT. The scope I was using has a 100yd parallax so that increased the difficulty. My new Bug Buster 3x9 just came today so I will mount it tonight and site it in tomorrow.

Good shot. How far away were they?

Most of them were shot off my feeder, about 10 yrds. A couple were closer to 15 yrds off the electric wire. Just about removed the whole head off one of them. Because of their size I usually use a heart - lung shot. Instant death, they just fall on the ground, no flopping or anything. That TKO sure makes it back yard friendly. ;D ;D

nice job, some people have trouble identifying the younger birds but you definitely got the right ones. That yellow at the base of the beak and the tan stripe along the eye are the best identifying features.
I have also noticed a new batch of fledglings recently. I usually go for the adults first if I see one with a young bird, the young ones are dumb and will sometimes stick around letting you take another shot.

Good job. I hope you continue to have success eliminating these pests.

Seems like there is a never ending supple. Now that I have my new scope on the 2400 I'll be able to see them clearly that close range. The Bug Buster can be set down to 3 yrds. The fun is just beginning. ;D

Nice shooting, I have also been popping some young ones here also. Keep it up.

Well the fun continues. Got a little time for pesting today. The new scope is great. Added 3 more to the count, 1 heart-lung from the side and 2 head shots. With the bug buster I can just about stack pellets at 10 yards.

Keep at 'em! You'll be shocked at how many you can kill. Just make sure you keep food out and occasionally put some bread out.
Good shooting. Keep it up!

Nice shooting! Sparrows are fun with a 2400. I was down at my grandpa's property two weeks ago and he had me remove the sparrows from his grape vines with my 2400. I was there for four days and I got over 100 birds. All of them were at less than 20 yards. The sound of a pellet making positive contact and watching them drop was awesome. I also got 13 Eurasian collared doves for the pot. It was the most fun I've ever had.
