I've been buying from Amazon since the early 90s, and I've been a Prime member for 3 years. You tend to buy a lot of stuff when you have 3 kids, so that Prime membership fee pays for itself, in my household. While I agree that their package protection is lack luster, I've never had anything arrived damaged, nor anything wrong items sent to me. The few times I sent things back, it was as easy as can be. That said, I don't order pellets through them: 1) I know how they pack stuff 2) With PA/AGD "buy 4, get 1 free" + the GTA-PA 10% discount code, I can get just a good a deal, if not better through PA/AGD. I also would hesitate to order anything delicate/fragile through Amazon.......but, their simple, no-hassle return/exchange policy encourages me to buy, with complete confidence.

By the way I've contacted Amazon and gave them the link for this thread. They told me the concern and shipping department will look into this problem and they will come back to me with an answer. Have anyone done that before? I hope they really care about the Airgun community and fix this problem once and for all.
Just to go one further.... don't order from Walmart either.

Hee heeSeriously, it would be great if they would be able to make improvements in their shipping practices. My Judy and I really like ordering from Amazon, because there is a giant facility about 20 miles from our place. Stuff come to our door quick.
I saw six (6) humans. Those must be some lonely people!
I think that the big difference is that PA is 'small enough' that they still use human beings. I've seen mind blowing articles on the level of automation that is used at Amazon.Check this out:might be that the wrapping differences you're looking at are automation vs human handling.
but I think the problem with Amazon and the pellets is during the shipping not when the product is in their hands. They do a poor packaging that doesn't survive the abuse during shipping. I've ordered fragile stuff from Amazon (light bulbs, tableware, etc) and always arrived in perfect condition, the difference? The package was done properly for the item in the interior. With pellets I got the tins floating in the small box, if you order more than one they will beat each other. If they just wrap the tins around their huge bubble wraps they will arrive fine.
