Field Target - March 16 near Clayton, NC
« on: January 30, 2013, 04:42:00 PM »
I'd like to send out an invitation to join us for a FT shoot on March 16.  Start time is at 9:00am but setup would start around 8am.

We are forming the Tar Heel Air Gun Club and would like to invite interested airgunners to come out and meet each other and shoot and have fun.

We will have an experienced FT shooter handling the shooters' meeting and I expect that many, if not most, folks that are coming have little to no prior FT experience.   We will have 20-30 knock-down targets set up and we are working out the course design and numbers of targets per lane.  The focus will be on making it fun and safe.

I suppose the only limitation for rifles is that they need to shoot under 20fpe to save the targets.     There will be shooters with PCP's and springers.  We will generally follow the AAFTA rules for classes.  I say generally because it may make sense to add a novice class or other accommodations depending on interest and what people show up to shoot with.

If you are interested in more info, send an email to me at: scott at thagc.com    I will respond with more info about the club and get you on our mailing list.

Thanks,

Scott Allen

Kudos on a match well run Scott!  I still have a silly addicted smile on my face.  I can't summarize the match better than Ed did here:  THAGC Inaugural Field Target Match Report. (a bit long with some pics)

We all had a great time and learned a lot from those sharing their experience and their know how to organize the event and make it a reality.  Thanks to Robert for providing the location and my personal thanks to Ed for mentoring me through my first field target experience.

Thank you Eric!  Great to meet you yesterday and I think we all made new friends there.

You shot great!
