Hmmm, that is strange that nothing is out there!  Mike, don't feel too bad.  4 years ago I organized a airgun club in western, NC.  We had alot of members from the get go.  Lasted maybe 5 months then everyone started dwindling.  Hard to get things going sometimes.  Alot of airgunners around but time I believe is an issue.

Know what? I like this idea. I recently took over webmaster duties for a local outdoors outfitter, and this guy is heavy active in youth activities and outdoors related events. He's a full on country boy, has experience in AG's, and just enjoys all forms of shooting. Having him sponsor an AG event might be just the thing he's looking for to help boost his business name. If costs can be kept down, and enough willing participants found, I may just get him to run with this.

I'd attend, and i have a couple buddies that would probably come along.

I am busy as H&** getting his website and blog up and running properly, as well as other clients, but have indeed been on this as well. Turns out, he formerly coached an awared winning youth AG team, has  instructor creds, experience in all the regs ect etc.

I am looking at shooting (no pun intended), for a late spring early summer event. I have an indoor location already lined up, and potential vendors as well. He's interested in full on formal competitions, and I am trying to inject more informal events to give a broader scope and entice more casual shooters to participate.

I will be periodically putting feelers out here on GTA to see if I can drum up the interest enough to make it attractive to some bigger named sponsors such as Crosman.

Nothing set in stone yet. I've got to get a couple people committed to doing this before I can begin seriously making plans. Location is no problem, legalities and regulations are a hassle though.

Even with the finest pellet rifle in the world, shooting the most accurate pellet in that particular rifle, and sighting through a perfectly-adjusted scope with the world's finest optics, it all still boils down to the person holding the rifle . . . !

Tentative discussions and plans are revolving around how big an event it should be, sponsors/vendors/ event volunteers, and just how formal to make it. Since it would the first event we've organized and managed, I'd want to appeal to as wide an audience as possible without getting so involved we get overwhelmed. I'd rather a highly successful small first event rather than a huge flop:)

It would help if I could get this client of mine to focus on one thing for more than 25 seconds too lol.

Not really, most the guys I know in this hobby have loads of money otherwise why would old men be playing with airguns ;D  I really think time constraints and family obligations to get in the way at times.  It does or is with me.  I also started a Triumph Motorcycle chapter and we have 71 members to date and ride impromptu alot and on organized rides, I miss alot of those due to time constraints and I am the president of the club :o!

If you think airgunning is expensive try owning and maintaining motorcycles properly...................tires alone that only last 3000 miles will put you in the poor house I assure you!
