Just saw this, I have no idea what types of plastic this works with. The possibilities......

I'd rather just buy a tub of Plasti-Dip.

I'd rather just buy a tub of Plasti-Dip.
I just bought some cans of Flex Seal to fix some small problems for a friend. Shopping for it, there was no way around getting a pack of two quart-sized cans for a job that needed maybe a few ounces. I am impressed, however--it goes on thinner than Plasti-Dip and seems tougher. I'll find uses for it.
Anyway, as to the original post, the video dissolved the plastics in xylene. That's a pretty stout solvent (i.e. dangerous for neurons), so be careful with it. A little further down that post we get the explanation of the solvent and that it works with polycarbonate and acrylic, but not polyethylene nor PET.
You want something really strange: dissolve a couple drops of fresh Gorilla glue into a few ounces of acetone in a jar. Put the lid on and leave it for a few hours. The stuff will set up! Unfortunately, as soon as the lid is removed, the acetone starts evaporating and what was a block of gelled whatever shrinks to a layer of scum in the jar...

I doubt that mixture would be stable after drying.
I would not want to be around when it outgases. Zylene is nasty stuff!

I would
HEARTILY
recommend anyone thinking about trying this read the MSDS sheet on Xylene....
And at the absolute minimum, get elbow-length chemical gloves rated for solvent use; and work OUTSIDE with the wind at your back-that stuff is NASTY....
