Manny,Wise beyond your years with that assessment. The two rifles do resemble one another, and I for one would have favored a classic style but stock. The Kratos is not a $500.00 gun because a regulator needs to be added for a fair comparison, having said that, putting a Huma or in my case a Altaros bottle regulator on it gives it an advantage over the FX regulator which is known to creep.Ergonomics is probably pretty close to one another, the barrel would probably be better on the 2K gun, but not a given as my Kratos shoots better than I do. One thing I do not read much about is Crown problems, I personally associate that with the Crown probably being a advanced variant of the FX Royale which is probably a better gun than even the Impacteds(sic) as troubles after the purchase.HPAMan, Congratulations on your new Mrod, a comparison from you between the Mrod and the Cayden would be a good read. I love that walnut stock that Benjamin mrods have now, but again clearly influenced by Kral. I Wish they would have stretched that influence further and added a sidelever breech as the rods are prone to double feeds.Regards,RoachcreekRegards,Roachcreek
I gather the OP is not a fan of bottle guns. I don't have one but will probably buy one next, probably a Crown. The Kratos lacks a regulator, as has been noted, and also an externally adjustable transfer port. So the Crown is definitely more adjustable. I also doubt that the Kratos can put out 50 fpe in 22 but somebody might be able to do it. But not without mods. With mods, there are reports of 70+ fpe out of the Crown, however. "Better gun" is a very subjective terms. If 30 or 40 fpe is enough for you in a 22 caliber and you get one that is accurate, spending a third as much has a lot of attraction. I might still go that route but I'm wanting to try a "high end" gun, an Impact doesn't work for me shooting from the left, and the ability to change calibers reasonably cheaply is attractive.
