My Idea For Dry Air

Now that the humidity is creeping up to it's seasonal levels, the humidity in my house will run 40-50%, I currently use two cheapo cotton filters, change them with every fill and swap with ones I dry in a heat box. My idea is to make a cannister packed with reusable indicating silica gel, maybe 2-3 pounds connected to a condenser tank cooled by an ice water bath and connect that to the intake side with measures to prevent anything else but air getting in, and then on the output side, a cotton filter and then a cartridge type molecular sieve. My thinking, flawed as it might be is that between the silica and condenser on the intake side and the filter on the output side, the air should be fairly low humidity.
Feel free to blast this hillbilly engineering to pieces

The main thing with desiccant traps is that the air needs to stay in them for quite a while for the moisture to absorb into the desiccant. On the input side, it would need to be a quite large canister. The Yong Heng is rated at 50L/min, so if you wanted to have the air stay in it for 30 seconds, you would need 25L of free space between the desiccant beads. That would be a BIG canister! Cooling in ice isn't nearly cold enough for atmospheric pressure input.
Putting a coallescing filter on the output, followed by a good size desiccant filter, seems to be a good way to go.
Something like this, plus the desiccant.

Here is a good read on what gets the water out of the air the best, I run one of Joes filters on the high side of my Shoe Box F-10. The trick is to get the Air in the filter to about 2000 psi before leaving the filter.

Well, I scrapped the low side idea since that doesn't work apparently, and I'll focus on the high side of things. Going to be a few weeks before I can get the coalescing filter, but I did get a desiccant filter in the meantime, it arrived today and after a bit of rigging, I tried to top off my Armada, from 2500psi 3000psi. That's when I realized I now have to also pressurize the filter each time to fill the rifle, and when I get the coalescing filter, I'll have to pressurize that as well, I'd estimate the volume empty is around 260cc, a lot more work for the compressor, when the coalescing filter is added probably .5l or more to compress before it even starts filling the rifle. Correct me, but I fill a tank, the pressure in the filters will equalize with the tank as soon as I open the valve, but the pressure in the filter will need to reach whatever pressure is in the rifles cylinder before the valve on the rifle cylinder opens?

You are correct. The tank will pressurize the system when you open the valve. Just make sure that you DON'T pressurize the system before you start the compressor, and develop some pressure. Trying to start the compressor under pressure can do some really bad things! The gun will not pressurize until the compressor system reaches the gun pressure.
Seems like the best way to do things is to pump a tank, and fill guns from that.

Try to wait until the pressure in the compressor output is close to equal with the pressure in the tank before opening the tank valve..
