WTB HW77 stock in any condition
« on: May 21, 2021, 11:25:30 AM »
I just bought a HW 77K-nice rifle-

but the iron open sights are too low for my  damaged 70 year old neck-can't get a comfortable cheek weld-

So I glued a tritium front sight- on top of the original front sight

also  dialed all the tension out of the rear sight-so they are both about 8mm taller-

Shoots great-but looks "funny" and I actually would like a bit more height-to match my Diana 460

The iron sights  don't sit high enough relative to my cheek weld-painful neck

I seem to remember reading that Weihrauch changed the HW77 a bit -a while back-to make it more scope friendly-so older stocks might have "lower combs"

Anyway if anyone knows where I can buy a "cheap"-meaning maybe $50-$200 -beat up or not-HW 77 stock-maybe older generation-let me know

I can probably shave down a stock(beat up one) to make it more suitable for my neck-

I can't bring myself to grind this one down-the glued on sight better option for now.

I might attempt to attach a cheap AR 15 magpul type front -and rear sight-they sit up high

Thanks

Charlie

I use GodaGrip cheek pads, particularly the SOPMOD, which will give you 5/8" of cheek elevation:

It has a textured finish, which looks and feels great.

No funky smell too!

FOOTNOTE:

Oh, you are wanting a lower cheek weld, sorry  ;D
