Yes Jared the barrel o ring is about 3/8 of a inch inside the barrel ,also that little Allen head grub screw at the end of the receiver puts tension on the ball detent on the bolt ,I had turned mine out 1/ 4 turn to make the bolt easier to cycle ,after reading about your mishap I turned it back in + a little extra to keep tension on the bolt when in battery,

I just tightened the grub screw a bit and the bolt seems to stay closed down tighter now.Tried Dan's trick with the JB weld on the magazine. No joy for me there. Will have to pick up some superglue gel and try that after work tonight
I have a Benjamin SAM Magazine cover break in half on me. I tried the Super Glue and it did not hold. On the 3rd shot, it broke in half again. I'm wondering if some Plastic Model Glue might work better, it tend to chemically melt the to pieces together, which might hold better. It just needs about 48 hours to fully cure.
Bin just called me and is sending me a new magazine. Cool guy. I told him about the tightening of the grub screw for the bolt as well. Turns out the guy selling SSTs for the Challengers also sells barrel bands for them too, for both the shrouded and unshrouded Challengers, at https://bisonairriflesandparts.com/shop/ols/products and on eBay at https://www.ebay.com/usr/idomybest662012
I had this exact thing happen, for me it was 100% my own fault for not locking the bolt all the way down. I suspect this is probably what happened to you. You get into the zone of paying attention to your poi etc and slide the bolt forward and forget to lock it down. My magazine looked exactly like yours, the air blowing back through the mag blows the cover off and blows all the rounds everywhere. There is no other mechanical reason for it happening other then the probe seal being blown out. And even with the probe seal missing it probably wouldn't blow the cover off the magazine..just saying.Have to make sure the bolt is locked in the down position.
