Thanks for the reply WayneIn South Africa we use metric, so it will be 4mm holes. How will drilling the ports influence shooting the "normal" pellets? I can't use slugs only, it will just be too expensive...Also, did you start the string @ 3000psi?
Rinus, In my experiance the Sentry is a fine rifle right out of the box. Wayne has my 703 now but it was amazing in factory form. Before doing ANYTHING to mod the gun, I would experiment with quality pellets first.
I installed an Altaros regulator in my 705. It seats up against the burst block sleeve (muzzle side) and renders the burst disc of little value since it is seeing the regulated pressure, not the high (3000psi) pressure. So I installed a pressure gauge in place of the burst disc so I can see both the regulated pressure and the high pressures. Not sure there is enough room between the burst disc block and the valve body to install a regulator. Altaros regulator is about 30mm long with an additional 30mm for the “pressure adjustment” stem.

Using FX 15.89 domed pellets had a 47 shot string, with standard deviation of 3.9fps; spread of 13fps for an average of 841fps. I be happy. Started at 3000psi and shot down to 1550psi.So I am communicating with Altaros via email. Still waiting on Huma though... To what pressure do you have it regulated? How many shots before it goes of the reg?
I am currently working with Huma via email to figure out the best position to place the reg. At the moment we are considering placing muzzle side of the burst disc adapter, with a spacer between the adapter and valve to prevent movement... Adding gauge in burst disc hole...

I think the .177 would be the best for being regulated, I don't have a .177 because of the fact I can't get a mold for .177 airgun pellet. I'm betting that one of these guns in .177 would make a heck of a target plinker though, I'm sure that it'd be very accurate as well, especially if it was regulated.
