Broke out the Weber kettle this evening for tumeric yogurt chicken. On pita with tzatziki, tabouli, cuke, tomatoes. I forget to add cilantro and jalapenos to mine.

Looks great Dinh. It looks too big to fold up.

Thanks, Jerry it was really good! That tzatziki really refreshes one's palate on a hot day. The pita was a bit stuffy, but had no issues folding up and staying together. Of course, it helps that they were fresh and still stretchy.

Tacos for breakfast.   I don't know what all the sides are called but there's some oniony, tomatoey, spicy stuff and green sauce and hot red sauce and little fried onions.   I just spooned a little of everything on my taco and chow down. The place is run by a little old Mexican woman who turns her kitchen into a restaurant on Saturday mornings.   She's probably violating some city ordinance-health regulation-restaurant licensing code but I'm not telling and I don't think any of her patrons are gonna squeel.   I don't speak Spanish and she doesn't speak English and there's no menu but I always get a great meal.   My wife is always the only Anglo there and you have to sit in random places in her tiny apartment with whoever shows up but thats part of the fun.  I can't get over how much better her cooking is than what you get in a restaurant.  It's 5 feet from stove to table, I love this place.  The chef reinforces my belief that anytime you get a meal from a little old lady of any ethnicity It's gonna be a great meal because she has probably been cooking her specialty for many decades.

Sounds exactly like a place I need to visit. Name, please?
I'm gonna guess it's either in Methuen or Lawrence. I'm leaning towards Methuen.

Ernie, those tacos look amazing.
Fathers day dinner was a cook out at Daughter #1's. a burger off the grill with everything, 7-layer salad, bean salad, home made mac-n-cheese, and kettle cooked BBQ chips. Desert was water melon, red velvet cup cakes, and DQ ice cream cake. ;D

Father's day dinner at the MIL was grilled ribeye, filter mignon, and chicken. Sided with potato salad, sauteed onions and peppers, and garlic bread.
Dessert was strawberry shortcake.

Dinh, I don't think the place has a name.   It's a grandmas kitchen and it looks like she makes a few bucks on Saturdays selling fantastic, real home cooked Mexican food.   I don't think the customers are random walk ins but I don't speak Spanish so I don't really know what's going on there other than the food is amazing.  It's actually in Nashua NH.   I suspect a lot of average suburbanites would not be comfortable in that neighborhood or walking into a very rundown building and apartment filled with tattooed non English speakers.   But I'm sure they are just as excited as I am to get great food for a few bucks.   And there's another thing that is strange,  it's not easy to know how much to pay for the food.   No menu, no prices.  I think I was told to pay however much I wanted.   I'm sure I paid more than she expected but I really want her to continue doing this.    It would be funny if she's just cooking for her family and is wondering why these strangers are walking into her kitchen and sitting down and eating.

How did you first find a place like that Ernie? What made you walk in and sit down?

We are friends with a woman whose daughter lives in the neighborhood and knew about the place.   The first time I went there I was thinking I should be carrying.
