My club is contemplating construction of a new indoor ten meter airgun range, as an addition to the clubhouse. What sites should I be researching for target systems. I have seen the Pilkington traps and systems, and the Creedmore portable system. Is there anything else I should be looking at? btw, there is some talk about this also serving as an archery range. No plans to convert to rimfire, just airgun and archery.
Also wondering as between traps vs some sort of non-rebounding material at the end of range, e.g., replaceable sheets of homosote, or a heavy canvas drapery, with pellets falling to a tray on the floor, vs.....
?
I have seen hand cranked pulley/cable target return systems, others powered by electric motors, and think we would prefer to stay with hand-cranks. Any suggestions on vendors, or would the local hardware store be able to take care of it?
Trying to put together an equipment budget.
Also, we can forsee the need for club owned rifles and pistols, at a good price/feature ratio, a decent quality but which won't break the bank, any suggestions are welcome.
thanks for any tips,
Ed

At the only indoor airgun range I have ever seen. They had wood frames build with heavy metal roofing mounted at an angle deflecting the pellets into sand held in a tray at the bottom. The tray at the bottom looked to be about 4' X 4'. The frame at the front where the roofing was attached also looked to be 4' x 4'. The metal attached at the top front of the upright frame and at the back of the bottom tray. They said they had been using them for years. They were on rollers to move them in and out.
