Just received a xs60c from Mike over at Flying Dragon and boy that puppy is loud. Has anyone tried a moderator on one? The od of the barrel measures 9/16 so I don't think that my tko that is on my 2240 would fit it.

Jim, While mine is still wearing it's original "muzzle brake / front sight" I have seen them here with moderators on them.
The only advice I can give is... Being an Asian air gun, you may want to confirm it isn't 14mm.

I purchased a moderator from Flying Dragon when I got mine. The moderator that Mike sells is the same plastic "SilenceAir" can that comes stock on several Umarex guns. Like my Ruger Impact Max. I tested my gun without the moderator first. Then I installed it. although Mike claims that the moderator doesn't do much I beg to differ. It makes a substantial reduction to the sound! ;D
The loudest part of the report is the sound of the hammer striking. The FDAR moderator is a slip on. I put a little hairspray on the tube before I slipped the moderator on and so far no problems.

Or check with GEO a member here, if you do not see what you want contact him and he can make it and quick.

+1 on GEO, I have 3, they work great.

On a completely different air rifle.... I am totally impressed with a Donny FL Tanto. ;)

I ain't recommending the FDAR compensator. It works, but I bet Geo could do you something better, cheaper. But yeah, a compensator is a needed accessory for this gun. Makes it as long as a magnum springer though!

Depends on your environment.,, I have no need for any "Hushing Device" on an air rifle... or a 30-06 for that matter where I am. Generalizations like that are not for everyone... right?
My XS60-c is perfectly quiet enough in it's stock form for "early Sunday morning" shooting when everyone else is still asleep... but they are 1/4 mile away or more.
Seems to me I mentioned early on it wasn't "Back Yard Friendly".... But I got a BIG back yard! ;)
A moderator to me is for a gun I travel off my property to do some stealth hunting.

I have a TKO on my XS60c. Work great. Need the one that fits the 14mm barrel:

XS60 is listed in the pull down menu.

Glad to see you back.

I agree in principle. I haven't been an enthusiast for moderators until recently. I have two guns with rudimentary moderators that are reasonably effective. Just a week ago I discovered the advantage that a really quiet air gun has. I shot four squirrels on an afternoon when I would normally expect to shoot two. I'm certain it's because the moderated gun doesn't spook every squirrel on the 3 acres I was hunting. I was "stealth hunting" in a neighborhood of two to five acre lots so I appreciated it for that reason as well.

Good point Carter, I didn't consider spooking the "next" quarry.
