Title: Dovetail to weaver mounts
Post by: Slay No More on May 31, 2011, 06:26:40 PM
Does anyone know any mounts that allow me to mount a 11mm on a weaver? I have more dovetail mounts then I have weaver mounts. actually i have no weaver mounts at all. So, could someone suggest me anything?

I've only managed to find these. http://cgi.ebay.com/Weaver-Picatinny-Dovetail-Adapter-Picatinny-Rail-/130312836172#ht_1264wt_825 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Weaver-Picatinny-Dovetail-Adapter-Picatinny-Rail-/130312836172#ht_1264wt_825) and they look sorta cheap.

Just keep in mind that if you are intending to mount your scope on a springer, those dovetail mounts you showed won't cut it because the scope clamps will slide all over the place on them without a stop pin.
I suppose I must ask why you would go with 11mm rings instead of simply buying Weavers, since the Weavers have stops built into the design.
Why buy one instead of the other?

You would be better off getting weaver mounts. I sell dovetail to weaver adapters so people can use Weaver rings. Goig the other way has no advantage, and for $23, you can get a nice set of weaver rings... I'll sell them to you! PM me.

I plan to buy these for a cheap airsoft gun, and instead of spend money on all of the new scope rings for all my 11mm optics it would be cheaper to change the weavers to dovetail ;p

But that's what I am saying... the solution you have there is $18, plus about $7 shipping. That means you are paying $23-$25 for an adapter, and you could just pay that amount for rings.

I would stick with the Weavers.

but i have red dots that i can't mount on weaver rails and i'd like to switch from the red dot to a scope with quick detach mounts so to buy something like this would be 20 times easier then to buy 50 pairs of weaver mounts for all my scopes ;o..
