By request from Lillysdad. A very non scientific comparison after drinking 4 cups of coffee and not eating breakfast yet
. When time permits I'll further compare.
The 1st few pics are of the Daisy 35 groups. Pellets were randomly selected from the tin. None weighed, or inspected. Picked out of the tin of Winnie domes, loaded, pumped 10 times and shot. So the flyers on both guns I'll blame mainly on the lack of inspecting pellets. Maybe next time I'll inspect and weigh pellets and see what happens.
10 pumps, 10 yards, side leaned on a tree while standing. 6 shots, 1 flyer.
not counting the 1 flyer, which either I pulled or was a bad pellet, a good group.
and at 15 yards as expected with a smoothbore, things start to fall apart. Further pellet experimentation may tighten this up a bit. Or it may not. 6 shots, 2 flyers.
discounting the flyers, not too bad, but further shooting is required with pellets inspected before being shot. I was sitting on my butt, resting my elbow on my knee for these shots with both guns.
Now for the older all plastic single shot 760. Mid 90's.
10 yards, same shooting position as above, side leaned on a tree. 6 shots, no flyers. A little looser than the 35 but not by a lot.
A dime does not quite cover the group.
15 yards, 6 shots, 1 flyer. Similar to the 35. Again could probably be improved upon with further pellet experimentation.
Both shoot through a metal coffee can at 15 yards with 10 pumps.
Personally with these pellets I would not hunt passed 10 to 12 yards with either of these with the smoothbore barrels.
Both the 35 and the 760 can be upgraded to rifled barrels if you are handy. Both for around $12 plus shipping. I'll be upgrading the 35 to a rifled barrel in the future and will do a writeup on it.
The 35 holds the slight edge at 10 yards.
fit will vary person to person. I find the 35 very comfortable to shoulder, get on target and shoot. Nicer than my 880's in that respect. Pretty close to how the 901 shoulders and gets on target with the slight edge to the 35.
The 760 has a totally hollow stock. The 35 has ribbing in it, adding a little heft to the gun while still light in weight. My 760 stock is filled with silicone and the 2 guns feel equally balance scoped, in hand with the 35 stock left stock.
The 35 pumps easier than the 760.
So both guns are close in performance with a slight edge to the 35 at 10 yards. But I am sure with pellet experimentation both could tighten up more.Well and fewer cups of coffee.
I'll do more experimentation before modding the 35 if anyone is interested. I do not yet have a chony for numbers. Although from sound of squeeze of trigger to impact, they are pretty much the same speed.

Thanks Tom... those are pretty decent groups at 10 yards and even at 15... good enough for headshots. or chipmunks... or rats...

Not bad at 10. I'm not thrilled with 15, but after all these are smoothbores. I would certainly kill rats with either at 15. I bet without all the coffee ( and I'm a coffee hound ) they would be better.

For smoothbores those are great groups. And again it seems Daisy comes out a point ahead.
