Don’t crush the tubeThe thin tube causes shooters to take one precaution that isn’t required on other R-series rifles. If you tighten the scope bases too tight, you’ll temporarily squeeze the tube into an oval. (BKL scope mounts aren’t recommended). This becomes apparent when you cock the rifle and can feel the mainspring bumping past the oval section as each coil slides by. I’ve done this in the past, and Mac experienced it during this test. This isn’t permanent, though. Loosen the clamps, and the tube springs back to round. But there are three vertical holes on top of the spring tube for a positive scope stop, so this should never be a problem.
Gee, if you get numb shooting it, you really ought to consider a tune kit. Air Rifle Headquarters has them, Vortek too. Or at least try the ‘tune in a tube’ grease from Pyramid Air. Something to take some of the vibration out.
Ok I just upgraded to an R9 22cal I love this rifle its a one hole gun at 30 yards ,my issue is I can’t keep the scope rings tight Ive tried red and blue locktite no luck. It does have a lot of spring twang my hands go numb after about 8 shots so what type of rings or mount will handle this?
Sportsmatch rings are what Wehrauch sends with their bundled guns, so what I had when I got my HW95 fieldpro. Those were 2 piece and scope never moved. I eventually switched to a 1 piece Sportsmatch medium scope never moved in those either. After switching to a smaller profile scope I got a Sportsmatch 1 piece low mount. That one fit the gun fine, but I measured the scope wrong, so this was my fault, and scope didn't fit where the turrets were. I used a dremel to grind part of the base out so it would fit. I was going to see if I liked the scope that low and figured if I did I'd try the 2 piece low which would have fit. The ground out mount is still on there, because it's rock solid even with part of it ground out. Out of those 3 sportsmatch I've owned and between 2 scopes, scope or mount have never moved. Just make sure to get the one with the stop pin, and use it. Also order from a reputable dealer (I got mine from AOA), Sportsmatch cautions on their website that there are Chinese knock offs being sold on Amazon claiming to be Sportsmatch. I used Vibra tite VC3 on mount and ring screws.
There's been several threads here very recently on the German airgun gate about R9 scope mounts. Google Gateway to airguns, R9 scope mount. I always recommend T04C Sportsmatch Rings. They have a recoil spring, they're top quality and reasonably priced.
Ok, you have me curious....what and where on Sportsmatch rings is this "recoil spring"? I've looked at them on several websites but none mention or show any kind of spring in the mounts.

The recoil pin is a spring steel roll pin and my miniature mind melded the two terms. It's an excellent choice for a recoil pin. It's a decent diameter, smooth, adjustable and has a ridiculous sheer strength. If you're looking for a recoil dampening mount look at their Dampa Mount. It's excellent and IMO a much better design than the Diana Zero Recoil mount.
Do the rings move on the gun or the scope in the rings? If rings move on gun, you could try a couple easy things. First - a little bit of abrasive (think fine polish) in the grooves. Then - a little LocTite in the grooves where the clamps go. Lots of guys have tried these and they work.
