Why single out Weihrauch? Does some other brand come with properly fitted guides? Or is the question simply rhetorical in nature? It's much faster in production to slip a spring onto a loose fitting guide than onto a tight one. I suspect that is much of the why. Instead of buying a kit sometimes you can sleeve your guide to help take up excess space. You can also sleeve your piston in lieu of a fitted top hat.
Sure wish I had the equipment and skill to make my own guides and top hats, but since I don't I'll just spend the extra money to put a kit in them.

Buy an ARH kit and be happy! don't waist ur time on OEM springs and guides!

This has been asked I'm sure but I didn't do a search so..... Why does Weihrauch not size their rear guides properly and provide a properly fitting top hat, both seem like they would be pretty cheap to do. I just received a HW35E .177 and shot it a couple of times for function and holy cow that spring twang is terrible. Now in Weihrauch's defense I am very picky and that bothers me so it may not feel that way to everyone. I have a 95 and a 50 both of which I had to kit in order for me to enjoy shooting them, and both of their OEM guides were very loose. Is there a reason, and if it's cost how much would it likely add to the cost to provide a top hat and guide that fit properly. I love the guns but until I get rid of that spring noise they are not fun for me to shoot.
I have yet to have a broken OE spring in either of the springers I own from HW. I’ve cut coils from a couple , the others were heated and the spring compressed by a few coils. Now mind you I don’t put 2 to 3k pellets a year through them but they do get used often enough. I do use ARH seals for the most part but have yet to test their springs. If and when I do break one , I’ll be going with the ARH for testing. I do prefer a mild shooting 177 at close to 12 fpe so maybe the softer spring will suit my needs. Top hats and properly fitted delrin spring guides are an absolute must in any springer regardless of manufacturer IMO
