Probably everyone should have the hand pump experience at least once to appreciate other more humane filling methods. I too started out with a Benjamin hand pump. Went nearly two years filling a .22 Marauder up with it. It was a real pain. Then I did the tank and scuba shop bit for a while. Then a compressor, which is probably the reason I am still a thorn on this forum today.
I've been looking at the Evanix .50 carbine rifle also...looks interesting.
If I got the texan.457ss and a Nomad you think I'd be in good shape? Like I said before once I get it sighted in it'll sit in the safe till deer season and then maybe a few shots to see if it's still on and then hopefully during deer season I won't need more then one or two shots. I realize that if I wanna take it out during the off season just to have fun shooting it that might be a different story.
Well this is getting kind of frustrating, if I got a Nomad (or something similar) couldn't I use that to fill the gun? Otherwise from what I'm understanding I would have to buy One or two bigger tanks then my 90 cu.in. one and then a much more expensive compressor to fill them. Yeah I guess maybe I could get a fire dept. to fill the tanks (no dive shop around here). Here is what I am thinking, to sight the gun in might be some what challenging because most likely it will take some shooting. But once it is sighted in I'm done, a couple of shots to check it before opening day And then I'm ready to hunt. I don't plan on long shooting sessions like I might with my marauder. And then I'm hoping that with a Nomad that if I used my head and did several short sessions I could possibly fill my 90cu.in. carbon fiber tank. I'd really like to get a big bore for deer hunting here in Indiana but maybe it's just not realistic for me.
Yeah, but with the Yung Heng you gotta mess around with water and oil and you couldn't take it out and hook it up to your truck battery. I don't know but from all I've read I'm a little leery of them, seems like a lot of messin around and all kind of issues. But is there another compressor similar to the Nomad that you think is better? there are several that I've looked at.
Well thanks Mike, I guess that is what I needed to hear I'm still trying to figure out which gun, compressor and or tank will fit my needs but you are all helping me thru this kind of process. I am gonna make a move for sure I just want to make sure it's the right one. I don't want to get something and then think why didn't you research a little better.

Sorry can’t post link. It’s made in England and will fill up gun and small tank quickly. It is built like tank. It is air cooled and the only maintenance is changing to lubricants. All portable compressor like nomad are Chinese and don’t last long if you pump past 3000psi.
The Hill weighs 55 lbs. and I don't think that you can run it off of your car battery and I don't know if you can fill your tanks with it.
