We are essentially running around in the woods or our back yards with bombs.
The chances of a pcp gun actually exploding is extremely small. (Probably zero.) How exactly would that happen? A fitting or gauge comes loose and shoots off like a projectile? I don't see how.

Admittedly, it was a homemade PCP, not a factory built one, but it pretty clearly illustrates that yes, a sudden failure can lead to high speed projectiles.
If you are using everything as designed by engineers, with their safety margins built in, and you are still worried about it, take up fly fishing. Seriously. You will never feel at ease, so why bother? Anyone can find something, or some event, to obsess about even when empirical data says that statistically it just won't happen. It seems that more than a few show up on these forums and share their concerns (unfounded) and tell everyone that they should be as concerned ( a basket case) as they are, and I say to them: get a new hobby! It seems that just about like clockwork that someone shows up every month to tell us are tanks are full of water, or are hoses are going to break or our compressors are junk will blowup and take out a suburban block. If 300bar "TERRIFIES" you, that is your problem, and you shouldn't use it. I would add, why go that high? Don't you think that 200bar has the potential for concern? You see where this is going? I can work this down to pea shooters in a school cafeteria. Yeah, this has gotten to a rant level for me, and it is not even targeted at the original poster (but if the shoe fits) but rather to everyone out there that shows up to rain on a parade. If you feel uncomfortable about something, anything, don't do it. Don't go looking for people to tell them your concerns though, nobody likes a Debbie Downer. Coming here and asking the membership if their airgun pressure terrifies them is like going to a parachute club and asking the jumpers if they are jumping from too high, and saying to them, don't you think that all of this is kind of dangerous. Most fear is based in ignorance, once you know enough about something you usually get a healthy respect for it. You shouldn't be terrified.

My point is these newer rifles fill much higher and for NOT a whole more efficiency.. I get great results with 2.2k and I think moving up to 4.5k is daunting. You just went down a rabbit hole by yourself.

Anyone here ride motorcycles? I would venture a wager that the risk is much greater. It's like anything else in life... use it as it's intended and understand the 'at risk' factor. And for the record.... even fly fishing can have dangers...
