I have one and have over 20,000 shots on the scope mounted on it. It has to be mounted correctly. The photo shown be Amoron is caused by the screw vibrating loose so blue loctite is a must. The screws behind the recoil bushings need to be very tight and installed with blue loctite. Now here is where it gets tricky. The screws in front of the recoil bushings only get snugged. You should be able to put a piece of thin copper wire or solder between the front and rear section and shoot the rifle. If it is installed properly the wire will be flattened.
I just got a Gamo Fusion Mach 1 in .22 and I’m waiting on a Hawke 3-9x40AO IR to be delivered tomorrow. I have the UTG dovetail to picatinny adapter installed and it seems like it’s way too much height. I think I might do the same and remove the RRR and re-mount the UTG picatinny adapter. I’m thinking that with a picatinny 1-piece Monstrum cantilever mount should hold firm and give me the proper eye relief. While it’s not a Gamo Magnum, it still Chrony’d between 21-23/FPE and I don’t want to take any chances with the scope not being secure. I had a Pinty 3-9x32AO scope that was just terrible so even though it’s still considered a “budget scope” in terms of what’s out there, the Hawke should be a big step up in optical clarity. I just want to make sure it’s secure while not being mounted too high.
