Looking and researching to get a pcp. In the meantime, quick trip to WallyWorld and picked up a new Crossman 760. Man! What a lot of fun in the backyard for $35 bucks!

760 are a joy to shoot and collect... think about how many of us started our airgunning lifes with that same gun decades ago... (If i knew how much this hobby was gonna cost me when i handled my first 760, i would have smashed it to bits and bury the shards... I would have retired by now...lol)
just kidding... enjoy it and if you have any questions dont doubt to ask... welcome.

I still have fun with the 760s. I even made a "custom" mini-version (760sb I think) for my daughter when she turned 7. Fun backyard plinker

A friend of mine asked my for advice on buying her first air rifle. She just wanted something to shoot in the backyard and maybe scare away pests. She has been looking at her local Wally World and was intrigued by all those super powerful magnum air rifles, blah, blah, blah. I told her to ignore those and just get a Crosman 760. She loves it. It's all the air gun she will ever need.

To tell the truth of my 760 Powermaster story, I was at Sears, Roebuck & Co on the strip in old Elyria OH. I was looking at the 160 Pellgun and 760 Powermaster, pondering which one to buy? I almost got the 160, which had more power & was .22 caliber bolt action to boot. But it cost just enough to where I'd have to earn more money on my paper route to buy the 12g Co2 Powerlets, as they were then called, & the Crosman/McCormick pepper tin of Superpells. So I decided on the 760 Powermaster variant 1, since it was a pumper and I could afford the ammo too.
Needless to say, I now have both. Although, I don't honestly know how the 160 Pellgun variant 1 wound up in The Closet of Lost Gold? I've also found it necessary to restomod them both. And yes, they are both gangs of fun to shoot. And I love the crisp, double click of pulling the bolt back to cock & load the 160 Pellgun. And that long, near-match grade barrel from 1955-56. I added an XP-Tuned valve to the 160 with upgraded seals as well. The 760 variant one ( 6/70) got seal and piston upgrades. And a NOS 761XL full-length rifled barrel. I also added MOE 2.5" picatinny rails intended for an AR15 to mount a scope on it. So they are even better these days, being modded a bit more toward modern specs.
So I hope you enjoy your Crosman as much as the rest of us! Some of us for several decades now! I now have some 14 760's, one a basket case from a fellow member dating back to May 1979.
