Over on Brad's board I found a deal on Bulldog that I couldn't pass up. it was local to my work so I was able to meet face to face and avoid shipping costs. The young man that previously owned it harvested 4 deer with it but lost his hunting land and thus sold it. Ironically, his favorite bullet was a 145gr hollowpoint made by GT Bullets over in Augusta GA. Low and behold I had a shipment of those arriving that very same day. I had ordered them to see what my QB78 Double would do when lugging it down with heavier ammo.....results of that are on that post. Last night I crammed the many Bulldog threads and decided where to start with mine. I decided .281 porting like my QB78 Double .357 was a good place to start. This is about as big as I can go without eating into the barrel o-ring or having the bullet base sticking into the barrel port. I spent some time on the bolt probe as well. A slightly longer link arm would be niceAfter a few mods and a custom valve poppet it is getting 3 shots 953, 919, 901fps, with 130gr cast hollow points made by GT Bullets. This is with a 3000psi fill. Using the 145gr from GT Bullets 3 shots goes 901, 859, 844fps on a 3000psi fill. Originally I hoped to find a 3 shot tune around 300fpe, but that may be expecting a little much. So far things are looking pretty good though.

I'm running 948-960-944 with 145gr Nosler this is with a 3650PSI fill and a custom airtube from Brian at Veradium Air. I have a custom twin spring hammer with a 10.5 gram brass weight and Im backed out almost all the way on the HST. It will do 325+ fpe at 3650psi with the HST turned in. I'm also running no return spring, modded the OEM poppet and TP opened to .315" valve to barrel.
Much, much better looks like that
It is surprising that crosman hasn’t expanded on the BD platform, outside of the airbow, after all these years. The most obvious would be some smaller caliber slug throwers.

Rifle configuration! Only thing to figure out is how to mount a stock, and the trigger... The Bulldog is actually not that bad looking naked!
Gt bullets perform well in my Bulldog.I performed some port work and achieved 246 ft lbs.My favorite is the gt bullets 9mm 130 gr hollow points sized in .358.I size them to .357 with a Lee die.I fly them at 880 fps .GT bullets has some 148gr wad cutters that are great as well.
