Boolit and Pellet Casting / Re: Newby on the block... well, to casting anyways.« Last post by 2A Georgia on April 24, 2024, 08:40:15 PM »Solved some PID issues, like a dummy I had the Pot plugged into the switched outlet and kept wondering why I kept overshooting...squirrel...lol
Dropping at 330-335C now, getting better at techniques, cleaned mold again, adjusted and oiled pins and cast some beautiful 217RF19.4s. I forgot to get a picture but shot two five shot groups that were one ragged hole! So when cast properly, the NOE217RF20 casts a perfectly acceptable hunting pellet for the Notos. Once I get the Romeo mounted I hope the SPA800r project will feed these as well. If they group, the chamber will get gently modified. These groups pictured involved picking one pellet at a time as "perfect" and culling about 3-4 for each keeper into the recast jar. The few flyers are "questionable" QA/QCs that I let pass. When the pellet looks perfect and drops about 19.4-19.5 they group one ragged hole, which is dead squirrels all day long. So now I just have to keep trolling this thread learning and improving IIDMP with casting. For comparison, the NOE IMHO groups as good as the production H&N 18gr Hunters. My tune is sub 700fps at these weights so no HP expansion going on, just a 20gr, 20fpe headache...lol 93
Czech & Russian Air Guns / Re: Slavia 622 questions« Last post by happymecanic on April 24, 2024, 08:37:21 PM »It's well worth picking up if you like small plinkers. It's no powerhouse but can be very accurate with the right pellet, expect 325-350 fps with a light/medium weight pellet. It's an all wood and steel airgun, which is rare these days. You should pay between $30 and $60 for a working gun. I have one and love it.
They're easy to work on , and parts can be had, here are a few links: https://www.jgairguns.biz/view-all-c-78_185_2468/ https://www.customairseals.com/product/slavia-piston-breech-seal-kit/ https://www.customairseals.com/product/diana-mod-22-23-milbro-slavia-winchester-webley-spring/ Feel free to google ''Slavia 622 parts'' for a lot more results. 94
PCP/CO2/HPA Air Gun Gates "The Darkside" / Re: FX Impact M3 Power Adjustments« Last post by triggertreat on April 24, 2024, 08:29:09 PM »What line is the valve on? You could go to line four and see what you get. It would be better to increase the hammer strike up until the velocity peaks and then back off on the hammer 5% from that peak velocity found. If you don't like that resulting velocity, then you want to increase the regulator pressure a little more and start over. You always want to keep the tuned balanced like this or you will be wasting air, and the gun will shoot louder than it should be.

3D printing and files / Re: TPU filament---need advice please« Last post by WobblyHand on April 24, 2024, 08:26:04 PM »I also have a Prusa MK4. Recently got a print dry drier which works pretty well. TPU can be difficult since it's stringy, the max MVS is lower than many filaments, and feeding can be problematic. I had to loosen my feed rollers so they had 0 tension with no filament, the springs were literally rattling. Then I could print 20 hours with no issue. If I recall correctly, I had to drop the filament temp by 15-20C to get things looking ok.
Pity the actual design I had made didn't work all that well, but I had a rather nice print! You win some and lose some, but managed to learn how to get reasonable TPU prints. Ended up making some custom rubber spool inserts for the PrintDry unit. The supplied inserts didn't fit my spools so I designed some that fit better. Still use them. 96

PCP/CO2/HPA Air Gun Gates "The Darkside" / Re: Benjamin Fortitude Leak Question« Last post by kbstingwing on April 24, 2024, 07:43:22 PM »try putting a few drops of silicone oil through your fill port, it just may need a little lube to soften it up and might solve the leak.
I put 5-10 drops in the female fosters fitting in the hose, connect to the gun and fill with air, air will force oil into male fosters and valve to lube the o-ring. |
