I only had enough aluminum left to make one nose cone (I will order more asap). I did take one shot at 20 yards, flight seemed stable and FAST and I hit within 2" of where my gun is zeroed with slugs. This shows a lot of promise BUT I will need to address the target situation asap. I shot through a cardboard target and 48"+ into my frozen sand berm. I had to do quite a bit of digging with a shovel to find the arrow.
The "centering cone" was my next question, because I have no idea where to find those. I can't imagine how much power is generated using an air bolt with a 500+ FPE rifle.
This is the type target I end up making and works perfect;First foam, can use an archery target spit halfway not to have to much dept,...I use broken surfboards, or boogyboards.Next layer a backpack or something of the kind filled tightly with old clothing.Last a sheet of 3/4" play,Everything tied together nice and tight,Finally, extremely important is to use steel blunts rather then field points. This combination followed to the tee works fantastic.

I have built a lot of DIY archery targets over the years for everything up to my crossbow. I have never shot anything with this type of power.
Well, just broke a board surfing,....new material for next AirArchery target

Another backstop target I use to use for field points. I worked at the hospital and got the light plastic covers off the clean linon carts. It’s thin like seran wrap but not sticky or clinging. Not as heavy as garbage bags. Stomp pack them into a burlap or feed grain bag. It will stop a 400 fps crossbow without going through. Easy 2 finger removal. Not worth a dang for broadheads. It will stop them. But removal is a bite.
