Best piston seals for hatsan mod 125
« on: December 01, 2021, 04:39:17 PM »
Was going to leave the gun alone as it was shooting good. Put 100 pellets though it today, had a few off sounding twangy shots followed by smoke in the barrel. thinkin the piston seal gave up on me, currently at 350 rounds through the gun. Lmk who makes the best seals any more thanks

Vortek still lists a seal for the 125. Pricey but the ones he used to make for Model 95 and down were great seals and still in the rifles I put them in:

http://vortekproducts.com/ourstore/Airgun_piston_breech-seals/Hatsan-125-Piston-Seal

ARH also sells seals for them:

https://www.airrifleheadquarters.com/catalog/item/251485/6616786.htm

HatsanUSA shows being out of their Medium seals but you can always try emailing to ask if they have any yet.

I googled it and a bunch of them came up. But i want to put the best in that i can. I put a vortek in my mod95 and it worked great.. i will have to make a pipe clamp to do this mod 125. On my mod 95 i used brute strength and old t shirts to compress the spring

Most likely gotten from Hatsan since other Hatsan seals they (PA) sell also came straight from them.

Just me but if Vortek still makes seals for the 125 (and he's still listing them), I'd go there before anywhere else. Bloody shame he stopped making the
seals for the 95 and lesser rifles. He does take phone calls, probably easier than waiting on email: 734-648-0620 after 10am

I have yet to see a Hatsan factory installed piston  seal that was not damaged at the factory.
In my experience with Hatsans the factory red seal when installed properly out performed the "super seals"  in my mod25 and mod95. Lost anywear from 50 to 100 fps. With CA,ARH,Vortex seals. I don't know why? I have vortex moly seals in all my other airguns.
And they are great.

Many, many people have reported that their Hatsan Magnums don't shoot anywhere near the Hatsan seals with aftermarket ones.

I just changed the piston seal of my H135 (nicked at the factory) to a healthy OEM seal. Can't wait to get the new setup chronoed, but it will be a while, since I have to travel quite a bit to shoot.

I have been quite happy using OEM seals in my Hatsan 95.
As others have mentioned, they seem to work better than most aftermarket seals.

I never had any problems with Vortek piston seals for my 95 or any of the other rifles they would also fit in.
Only reason I stopped buying them was because Vortek quit making them.
