I've gone back and looked at that .22 Akela about 50 times so far, just really like the look of it not to mention it's a bullpup. But, I'm very proud of myself because I know I don't "need" it and I've so far been able to stay away from the "purchase" button Jeff
Mine came in today. Everything looks good, decent wood too, and it came with a 2900psi fill. I will be scoping it this weekend and shoot some groups. The only negative thing I have to say is that it has a hair trigger with zero 1st stage. No travel at all and the pull is 1lb or less. You touch the trigger shoe very lightly and it discharges before you are ready. I already discharged it/dry fired it accidentally a couple of times I watched a couple of Youtube videos of people shooting and reviewing Akelas, and I could see theirs had some travel and predictable break as the reviewers said. I have to find out how people are adjusting the trigger. I doubt I am going to get used to this trigger the way it is set up right now with no 1st stage.Harry
Thanks. I looked at several Youtube videos on the Akela earlier today, but did not see anything about the trigger. I will keep looking. There were a few I didn't have time to watch.
Got my Akela .22 with internal box damage - no external.Pressure gauge bent to side but does still work.Crosman sending me a new gauge - I did not want to send whole thing back.Again Crosman support is the best of all - and in America. The gun shoots very good and at 10 m is accurate.Shot 40+ at lower middle power setting ( 760 fps from 3000 to 2000 psi )Super wood stock - I think this is a very nice PCP
What is the Extreme Spread after the 40 shots? Have you chronied it? I am getting crappy strings with my new Akela. The velocity decreases after each shot in the 3 power settings I tried. I have not tried the lowest yet nor do I want to, but I did a lot of testing in mid-power, 3/4 power, and max power, various pressure fills, and I am getting 30+ fps velocity drop after just 10-12 shots On mid-power (notch half way between + and -) I am getting 22-23fps ES which is better but that is only after 10 shots with 18.1gr, and from 780's down to 760 fps. I want to get a better/consistent string in the low or mid-800's, but it's impossible right now in stock form without some modifications, valve work or a regulator

Goo Gone is supposed to work really well for the initial cleaning. My Kral, which I bought used, was terreible until after I spent about and hour cleaning out the shipping grease which the PO apparently didn't clean out. It started shooting really well after that.

It seems that Akela will need a weaker hammer spring to get a balanced shot string.John's post https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=193650.msg156252036#msg156252036gives these dimensions for the .22 Akela hammer spring:OD 0.456" (11.58mm), ID 0.350" (9mm), Wire Dia 0.050" (1.2mm), Len 3.475" (88mm), Coils 16Aliexpress has a bunch of springs that might fit, and they come in 300mm length and need to be cut to size:1.2 mm wire and 11mm or 12mm ODhttps://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003462714998.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.24dd2e0eAT90jkFor the Aliexpress springs the number of coils is not specified. The only choice to make is if to buy the 11mm OD or 12mm OD since there is no 11.5mm OD available.
