Was there an improvement in accuracy on the sleeved barrels? Does that eliminate the need for barrel bands?
I wrap my Hatsan barrels with. 001 brass shimstock where they plug into the receivers.
Might help...shouldn't hurt.Tend to take a hard look at the way the barrel and breech fit together first.

The Hatsan system is fairly soild. -Although slightly less so if, like me, you remove the factory shroud. So I agree that's always worth checking. But again, not what I'm discussing here. I want a STIFFER barrel, and with less harmonic ringing. The lack of stiffness is probably an issue since I have a heavy Donny moderator on the end.Harmonic ringing is always an issue. Lots has been written about this. - But there's no guarantee that the CF tube will stop it. I guess it depends on how I install it. It looks like FX uses some kind of specialized o-ring system. They obviously don't explain it. I'm think to simply pound the sleeve on if the fit is tight, or permanently glue it on, as it surely can't make things worse. As for the breech connection, at that point the barrel is a bit heavier, so I suppose I should consider beefing that up, as well. Maybe glue-on a few washers, with a rubber surface on the back (breech) side. That would then tighten up when the moderator is screwed on.I'll probably just give it a try.
Well, I bit the bullet and ordered a tube today. I found one the perfect size and slightly less $$, it cost about $38, delivered. If anyone else want to try this, and has a Hatsan barrel (0.552" O.D.) this should work ok:https://store.acpcomposites.com/carbon-fiber-uni-roll-wrapped-tubing?quantity=1&dimensions=64&length=44It not high modulus, and it's not pultruded (which is stiffer) but I couldn't find the latter ANYWHERE in the right I.D., and the former is ridiculously expensive. Uni Roll wrapped is still supposed to be pretty stiff, so I figure it's worth a try. Also, FWIW, with a Hatsan barrel, this tubing has an O.D. that will still allow the factory shroud to go back on, with enough internal space to let air escape down to the back shroud hole. Custom O-Rings would have to be fitted, of course.
Can CF be damaged by UV? I never heard that before. If so, maybe I'll just coat the tube wit some UV-resistant urethane coating. FWIW, I currently use a Donny Shogun, directly on the barrel. Compared to the factory shroud with aftermarket baffle, it's just a tad quieter, but also a few inches shorter.
It's not the carbon per say, but the resin that gets damaged by UV light. Perhaps there are better resins or finish coatings that can handle UV light these days.
I put a couple on FX barrels, over the inside liner as well as over the sleeve that holds the liners. I really like it. Definitely makes them stiffer, adds next to no weight. Didn't hurt accuracy at all. (Don't want to claim its "more accurate")
