If those are replacement grips, make sure that the sear pin is sticking out about 1/16" on both sides of the frame under the grips. The wood grips have a small hole that fits over the pin. if the gun originally had the old plastic grips, the sear pin was flush with the frame on both sides. From the looks of your picture, it appears that the grips are not being held in place by the sear pin.
It would be interesting to know what you find as to why the grips don't fit.Wish you lived closer to me, I have a 137 we could try your grips on.
I would like to see how they fit at the top..If they contact the frame there it could be a simple matter of taking a SLIGHT bit of wood off to change the angle of contact.

Sorry if I came off rude, I didn't mean to.I should have known that it's human nature for people to try and help remedy an issue instead of just merely discussing it.
Could be someone hammered nails using the bottom of the grip. Check out the grip frame on this 160.
