Condor Has A New Look

Many of you have seen pics of my .22 Condor lying next to a harvested squirrel or G-hog but she's sporting a new look, courtesy of a new barrel shroud I just installed on her. The new shroud is much thinner, much shorter and I think provides a much "cleaner" look to the rifle than the old shroud, looking like a natural part of the rifle instead of something that was "added on", which was a concern for me while out in the woods hunting with it and the gun doesn't have that "broom stick" look to it anymore
Anyway, Harry asked me to take some pics and measurement for him so I thought I'd just post em here in the good old Hunting Gate in case anyone else was interested in taking a look. To say I'm satisfied with the new shroud would be an understatement. I bought the same shroud for my Talon a couple of years ago and it worked so well that I thought I'd try one on the Condor and I'm happy to report it works just as well on the Condor as the one on my Talon
I realize this post should probably be in the PCP Gate but my beloved Condor has been hanging around the good old Hunting Gate for so long I don't think she'd feel comfortable anywhere else
Besides, I did talk about how this is going to make her a better hunting rifle so I think I'm on semi solid ground here
Jeff

That is a sweet weapon Jeff. I have a soft spot for the Condor. I was a tough choice between that (in .22) and my Mrod. I went with the Mrod for quiet operation and multi shot magazine... but the Condor was my first choice for looks and weight.

Thanks guys, I can't wait to get her back out into the field. I was going to go g-hog hunting today but it was just to darn hot. First cool day I get though I'm gonna get back out to the vegetable farm and duck farm and target some g-hogs and pigeons.

It looks awesome Jeff! Thanks for posting the pics I asked for.
I will be ordering one asap! It's still about 2-2.5" shorter than my Airhog shroud.
The only thing that worries me is that my powered tuned .25's may be a little louder with this shroud. This shroud may work great on a stock Condor, but I am not sure how it would fare with 20 more FPE, or more air blown through it. I know it will work great on my mildly modded .22 Condor. I will try it on all 3 and compare to the gigantic TT shroud and Airhog one since I have both right now. I think the long TT shroud is more geared towards power-tuned Condors. I put the long TT shroud on my .22 Condor and it was virtually silent at 85-90% power, but when I transfer the TT shroud to my 90fpe Condor with the polished and bored out valve, it is not "silent", but still pretty quiet. The noise level gets down to the .22 Condor's when the .25's shoot at around 70fpe. At 75-80fpe you can tell the sound goes up a decibel or 2
There is definitely a difference, and it's all in the added AIR the powered-tuned .25's put out with every shot.. which is why I get 25-30 shots with the .25's and 40-45 with the .22.
Still this little shroud is a very good value and definitely looks better than any other I have seen out there.
Here is the Airhog shroud I have (2 of them) on the .22, which is about 2.5" longer than your newest shroud. I like it a lot better than my fat, long TT shroud and it's almost as good as suppressing the sound
See the difference between TT and Airhog?

Harry, check with Bill and ask him about a .25 cal shroud. He doesn't list one on his website and I'm not sure if he makes one for .25 cal. I know it's probably a simple matter of drilling a bigger hole in the end but I'd check with him first. As for how it will perform on a power tuned condor I don't know, but I know it works well on my stock .22.

Wow!
How much does it improve the noise reduction?

I could never shoot my talon or condor in my yard without these. With them on the rifles I can shoot all day long in the backyard range and my neighbors don't even know I'm shooting
