I feel sorta fortunate, my .22 DAR is still holding air and shooting very accurate. For a cheap air gun, it can hold its own against some of the more expensive air guns I own.

My .177 sure impresses me to date. Much better $ for $ than the Nova and Artemis or = you get what you get with thrse priced guns, if not handy, drop ship to a trusted tuner, then youget parts and service after. Seemed to be a trend with springers and the like for decades. BTW there is a job opening for anyone in that area +1
Just trying to help here....You guys that are hand pumping... try to find a member near you who has a tank or compressor. Many times a hand pump will not produce enough pressure fast enough to seat the check valve and/or poppet. It will take a quick blast of air to make it happen. From there, as long as your gun holds air and never get completely empty you should have no more issues.Maybe a local dive shop, paintball field or even fire department will help you and make that initial fill.

No, I dont understand why...

No, I dont understand why... Because if your hammer spring is heavy (preload) and no back pressure is in the valve, it may hold your poppet open.
Here is a hack for hand pumpers may cost a little more than a cheap hand pump Get a 3000 psi paintball bottle and fill valve, charge the bottle with your hand pump, might not even need the full 3000 psi. hook up to your pcp and open valve for a burst of fresh air
Aprayinbear, this may help “ if you have a conventional shop air compressor you could disconnect your hose from your hand pump and use a rubber tipped blow gun connected to your compressor to blow air thru your pump hose into your air cylinder. Possibly that would dislodge the debris or get enough air in there to seal so that you could proceed with your hand pump to fill it further.”Good luck
