well i should be in the attic putting another coat of poly on the trim and door, but i received a text that my new scope had been delivered. it's my 1st Discovery and it's a fill in until i can afford an MTC Viper Connect. i mounted the VT-Z 4-16X44 SFP on the HW100BP-K and i must admit, for a $120 scope, it's pretty darn nice. the glass is clear and plenty bright as i look into the trees on this rainy, overcast afternoon. i put the Arken that was on the HW back on the Daystate Regal. the turrets turn nicely with well defined clicks and the magnification turns easily. the parallax side wheel is a nice 2 3/8" diameter. not too big, not too small. it's a bit stiff to turn, especially since being a lefty and having to reach over with my right hand to adjust it. a larger wheel may allow me to reach it with my left and not lose my site picture when shouldered, but aesthetically this looks right. as to the stiffness, it should ease after a while. the ocular lens adjustment is a bit too easy to turn, and i can see this moving while hunting, but the provided lens cap does a good job of holding it in place. the reticle is perfect for a day hunting in the woods were my Arken 4-14X44's FFP reticle becomes too small when set to 6x. at 16x no haze or fish eye is present as is usual with inexpensive high magnification glass. this will serve me in my quest to eradicate the hosps from my trees 40 yards out. not 1 of the 7 adapters supplied with my Tactacam properly fit the scope, so bummer there.
it's raining today, but i'm hunting on sunday and visiting the farm, so i should be able to get her sighted in then.

she's now sighted in at 25 yards with .177 NSA 12.5 slugs with a 1 mildot holdover at 48 yrds. (the 2 distances at shoot at home the most) 1st trip to the woods the ocular lens cap fell off never to be found. i had to place a couple of dabs of model glue on the ocular to keep it from turning on me while handling the gun. i have another sfp scope coming for this gun so this Discovery will most likely go on the 2260.

one thing that will help you on the HW100BP is to take off the plastic Picatinny rail and use the dove tail rail, I use UTG picatinny to dovetail snap in adapters on mine, I found the plastic rail flexes to much.
