I disagree with the "open the bleed before shutting the compressor off" idea. If this were true then the auto shut off on some units would prove hazardous to them.... just sayin. As far as starting the compressor before closing the valve... the compressor starts with zero pressure so whats the difference? It also has to build enough pressure to open the check valve on the gun. That acts as a buffer.
Are you opening the bleed valve before you restart it? If so, there shouldn’t be any pressure built up. I always start my compressor with the bleed valve open and then shut it once the compressor is running. I use the auto-stop function and immediately bleed off the pressure after it stops. I have never had an issue doing it this way.
Now that some of you have been using the CX2 for a while, I wanted to check in and get a longer-term review. I've got an Avenger on order, so I'm going to need something more than my handpump to get up to 4000psi. Are you still happy with your CX2? Any issues? Would you still recommend?
