This has been one of those projects that never get finished and eventually end up in a garbage bin. However, I was slightly surprised by the results and decided to go on with this.
It is originally a Beeman RS2 Sportsman just like this one
I have no idea why I bought it, maybe it was the Beeman brand that fooled me into thinking that it was any good.
However it was rubbish in every possible way, scope disassembled itself within the first five shots, barrel lockup was loose, groupings were apalling and stock felt really bad besides being ugly with that strange hump. Trigger also was stiff and jerky combined with the firing cycle smoothness of skateboard on cobblestones, I felt like this was not money well spent.
How to modify:
- Remove the stock
- Remove the barrel and hinges
- Remove all trigger parts
- Throw them all away
I thought that the barrel swap would be a quick job, but ended up making a completely new system with better geometry for the detent ball. Barrel is 16mm choked LW .22 inside aluminium tensioning shroud.
Stock is what needs the most work now, its in the unfinished raw format.
I was almost happy with the stock form when I decided to make the gun recoilless.
Recoilless system is just rails for action to slide in so nothing super special there. Cocking link needs to be two part job to fit inside so I tossed the old single piece link and made a new one.
There is also a system inside that pushes the action forwards and locks it there when the gun is cocked. Maximum recoil distance is 23mm but with scope the action usually recoils only 18 mm backwards.
This is completely free recoiling system where no spring detent must be overcome to start the recoil movement, thus it is extremely smooth to shoot this gun.
Next up is some cleaning and polishing, new trigger, better sights and of course the stock should be finished.

Albert, can you call that Beeman anymore? Its more like a Finnman I thinks.
Looks awesome as all your builds.

Impossible just takes a little bit longer to achieve.
