Title: My new rat gun setup - PP700SA + Immersive Optic + Pard007S
Post by: max115 on November 26, 2021, 02:38:19 PM
Setup my low power .22 PP700SA pistol/carbine with Immersive Optic 5x30 and Pard007S for close range rat shooting.

I needed this setup so I can shoot rats that hang out amongst the cows inside the bin area.

enjoy.

Well done video!

Informative without being bloated.

I was actually surprised by how nice that trigger stick is.  How exactly does the rigger part cause the legs locks to temporarily loosen? That seems like magic,  but incredibly useful.
I've been using an old photography tripod, with a large swiveling ballhead and then rifle "vee" yoke on top.  It's nice, but it can't do that quick height adjustment.

@Cableaddict.  Thank you.  The trigger stick uses friction to hold it in place.  I used to use a cheap tripod as well and it was not practical to use especially trying to make adjustment on the fly.  I have been eyeing on this Primos trigger stick for a while and I bought it when it came on sale.  Expensive item but very practical and useful in my opinion.  It also comes with a camera mount piece which I will use to attach to a "cradle box" to hold my rifle in place.  Well, I have to try to make something like that and make sure it works, lol.

Heads up:

IMO, most of those "cradle boxes" won't likely work well with bullpups, because there's no way to attach it close to the rifle's center of gravity, and that's critical for stability.  Even the Bog looks like it might not work perfectly.  I tried one of the simpler types, and it was horrible, even with an expensive ballhead underneath, as the rifle shook like crazy.

I once started working on my own "extended cradle" which will connect to the rifle in 2 different spots, (ahead of and behind the trigger)  and leave the trigger area open enough to shoot. while attaching to the tripod from a bar below the trigger.  It should work, but I never got around to finishing it.

@Cableaddict.  good to know.  I haven't had the time to do this mod yet.  I would be nervous to leave my gun resting on this DIY cradle anywhere, lol.  It would be something simple and just hold the gun firmly as I am operating with the stick.  My HW100 has a wide base on the stock area, hence I was planning to make a flat box to cradle it while I wait/shoot the rats.
