Looks good so far, sir. I wish they'd made the stocks as pretty looking as yours back 5 years ago when I got mine. They've gotten better at not piling on whatever finish they use and actually let the wood grain show and the dark and dull finish on mine ended up drove myself and others to refinish them...lol.Keep us posted as the shooting progresses and keep an eye on that included scope. They used to include a 3-9x32 AO scope that had a quite bad reputation for failing in the first 300-500 shots and the one I did try on a rifle with less power than the .25 failed at a touch over 400 shots. Been a few years since I bought a new Hatsan, that one was the new AirTact in .25 when they first came out and I never used the included scope, so I'm curious how well the scope they include these days may hold up.Here's mine with that grungy finish I mentioned before and after I tinkered.
That looks real nice. My two Hatsan 125s both came with the Optima 3-9x32. One survived the 125 ok, but when I upgraded the scope, I put the Optima on my RWS 3500 22cal, and it didn't last 100 shots. I put the second Optima on the same RWS, and it has survived about 100 shots, but I don't expect too long of a life. The SAS system on the Hatsan probably takes some of the sting out of the shock to the scope.
Nice shooting even with the scope limiting things. I've never shot anything lead free out of mine yet, although I got some Predator GTO's on a whim along with the new FX versions and at some point will put them to the test. Gonna be awhile though since the nasty weather you're getting is likely what's headed my way this weekend...lol.I have 5 Hatty's in .25 (also have 2 Hatty PCP's in the caliber) and mine have all done real well with the JSB's, so hopefully they will in yours too. I've tried others and a few of them shoot pretty well out to the 30 yards I have for shooting but I always go back to the JSB's.
Nice, looks like it's going to be a great shooter. You can adjust the diopter to clear up the reticle focus (I had to do it myself). There isn't a 'fast focus' that most scopes have today though. You just need to loosen that lock ring just in front of the ocular bell (I just use my hand and twist the ocular bell counterclockwise to loosen it, it's not all that tight). Then adjust the ocular bell forward or back to achieve focus. Then snug down that lock ring again ( I just run the lock ring up against the ocular bell, and then twist the ocular about 1/4 turn or so to snug it back up). That's the problem Shane, I tried that. I actually used curved jaw channel locks on that "lock ring" and it didn't budge. I've never seen one that tight?Shane
Someone on the Optima scope assembly line must be mixing steroids and Red Bull......smile
