Thanks for your comment, but I have edited my first post, I think I need to send it to someone to go over, not confident I can do it on my own..
You should be able to buy a pack of the e clips from a hardware store, or online if you have to. They're very easy to lose, so I like to stick a strong magnet nearby when I'm putting them on or off so if they go flying, they typically end up on the magnet. There's special tools for putting them on and off more precisely, but I always just use a flat-head screw-driver and/or picks.I've heard some people having trouble with the GRT-III in Stoeger guns. Maybe Google around a bit and see if they had any solutions, but my guess is simply that you need to back out the primary adjustment until the piston can engage the sear.Edit:If you can get a shot of how your trigger group is now, I bet someone can help you out better. I just did a heap of reading on the GRT III and ran across a few Google results of people having trouble putting them into Stoeger X series guns, and aparrently there's special instructions for installation on Stoegers on CDT's website.https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=126059.0https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=65468.0
If the issue is just a trigger assembly/parts problem, perhaps a regular pb gunsmith might be helpful???

Small internal tooth lock washers work well in place of an e clip. You need to support the other side of the pin with a piece of wood or something similar then tap the washer on using a small socket. If you use the right size they will not come off. If the slot is too wide for 1 you can put 2 on to take up the space. The ones I removed were destroyed by the time I got the off. After that I learned to just cut them off.
