Has anyone ever used the Venturi scope rail mounted spring compressor on a magnum rifle like a Hatsan 125? If so, how did it go? Do you even recommend it? I don't really want to invest in the tools and materials to make my own if I don't have to. I wouldn't be using it that often. Thanks.

Works fine. You just need to really tighten in down. Make sure it is parallel with your dovetails.
Other designs are better. You will mess up your dovetails a little bit. How much depends on how careful you are...

Haven’t used it on a Hatsan but have used on 56T/H. No problems compressing spring. The biggest issue with the Rail Lock is how it may or may not match up with where you need to push to compress the spring. With the side lever Dianas you need an adapter. But, because there’s no vertical adjustment it doesn’t line up real well. Other guns it lines up much better. You won’t know until you try it on your guns.

Thanks for your responses, I certainly know more now. I may try to buy a used Venturi Spring Compressor first or a Groz 48 T-Bar Woodworking Clamp for $60. I have a little time to decide. Won't use it too often.
