ORing Care During Cleaning

Greetings,

I'm into my 6th month of air guns and have a question about cleaning and how to preserve orings.  I understand the need to stay away from petroleum based products to help preserve our orings, and I've been using silicone on the orings I can see, and lately started using Ballistol on the bores of my guns.  I've sent an inquiry to Ballistol about the safety of using their product on orings, but no reply after a couple of weeks.  On the label it indicates it's safe on plastics and rubber, I'm just asking them about air gun orings specifically.

Here's an open question, what do you use as an all around cleaner for air guns and have you had any experience with products that may have damaged your orings.

Ballistol is what I have used for the past dozen years on all my airguns for barrel cleaning and such without any issues of O-rings swelling or deteriorating.  I did have a friend try using WD-40 and some Shooters Choice with deleterious effects causing his guns to be rebuilt due to failing O-rings.  YMMV 

Hajimoto:
As was stated. Clean with Ballistol but condition with 100% pure silicone oil/grease to keep the o-rings in tip-top shape.
If they feel hard and have little to no flex, they need to be replaced.
