The o-ring would put some drag on the stem but that would seem to be better than having air leak out around the valve stem.Lloyd
The 1st Disco's did have o rings on the stems. These worked well for a while, then the inconsistent drag caused by the lube giving up would cause velocity drops. What your describing can only be caused by transfer port leakage, bolt leakage, or leakage through the stem guide as you suspect. As the stem to guide (valve body) tolerances are pretty loose from the get go in these guns, too much polishing won't help your cause. If your complaint is only on firing, then the other o rings on the valve won't be the problem.Double check with tissue for leakage around the bolt, and trans port.
