Post by: smellslikepeople on September 15, 2018, 03:57:04 AM

I have the non-magnum .22 Swarm, and have not had any magazine issues yet with mine.  Have used JSB 15.89, JSB 18.1, H&N 14.66, Crossman Premeir 14.3, GTO Predator Alloy and a few other varieties of pellets.  I also purchased “3” spare 10 round mags from PA; and all are working well so far.

Hope this helps.

My Swarm .22 has been cocking and feeding pellets flawlessly for the year plus that I have owned it

In case the magazine loading system is broken, could we still feed it with single pellet?

If memory serves yes that can be done I remember another member just removing the auto feed I also remember someone getting an entire new assembly from Gamo USA

I heard some of the early Swarms were having some issues, but those were being replaced by Gamo.  I've not had any issues with mine.  If you decide against the Magnum, mine's for sale!  :D

Do people still do brass or iron washer mod on the pivotal to increase the accuracy?

If the existing washers are plastic definitely go with the brass

This used to be done with Crosman guns because of the plastic pivot washers.

Gamo didn't use them, they do  use steel barrels with plastic coating.

Do people still do brass or iron washer mod on the pivotal to increase the accuracy?

Thanks Al. I guess we can not do much with that plastic coating.

My 22 swarm has been perfect in function. Accuracy is as good as I can do. The swarm changed my opinion of the GAMO guns.
I have been pretty impressed with how well the alloy pellets have been shooting in it.

I think that I remember reading that the first ones were more troublesome in .177. Is this still the case or do they have the problems sorted out.

Gamo does not offer 0.177 in the Swarm Magnum.

My .22 Swarm Maxxim has fed flawlessly for the month or so I've owned it, some 2,000 rounds.  Until last night.  I was shooting with my buddy who has the same rifle in .177, and a couple of other neighbors came over.  Long story short, somehow the magazines went into the wrong gun, the neighbor shooting my .22 strongarmed it when he was cocking it, and pffffft went the feeding mechanism!!!  The larger feeding pin got jammed by the smaller hole in the .177 magazine, and, uh...there ya go!  A .22 magazine was inserted into the .177, however, no damage occurred...the feeding pin is smaller, and although the pellet wouldn't insert into the breach, the pin had no problem clearing the larger hole in the magazine.

My fault for letting the situation get outta hand...they were both shooting at the same time, neither my buddy nor I was closely monitoring the action...lesson learned.  The more important point is what can happen when a .177 magazine is inserted into a .22 Swarm!

I visited the Gamo Website and searched for Gamo Swarm Maxxim.  It showed "no results".  However, there were many different models of Gamo REPLAY Maxxim.  Are these two the same gun?  Also the Gamo does not have the Replay Maxxim MAGNUM.  Based on these findings, where can I refer to the Swarm Maxxim MAGNUM specs. you guys have been posting?  Thanks

If I recall correctly, the Maxxim does not have the magnum designation, that being the 33mm ram.

The equivalent would be the Replay Magnum IGT. Pretty much the same power specs as the G-Magnum IGT; they're essentially the same gun with the exception of the Swarm technology on the barrel.

On a different but related note, havenofear: any airgun shops in the Taguig or Makati area?

thanks, kzz1kaw. Unfortunately, that's kind of a long walk. Makati and Taguig are about 30 mins away from Manila...Cebu City about an hour and a half.

By plane.  ;D

Oh nice! I'll be in Taguig in about a week. If you were closer, I'd say lets meet up; but distance being what it is...my boots are unfortunately not made for that type of walking.  :o 8)
