I had a busy day today. One HOSP, one chipper, and one ground hog. Kral Mega .177 FX 8.4 gns
The chipper was taunting me most of the morning. Every time I got into position it would scurry off into one of its trans dimensional portals and not reappear until I had put everything down. On one occasion just as I was getting ready to put things away, a flock of HOSP's arrived and started eating the grass seed I had put down. They were doing their usual noisy dance and bop, but I was still in position and ready to go. I decided to take out a female because I am trying to reduce their numbers. One perched a little too long on the raised garden bed timbers about 15 yards away. I sighted onto her head and sent it. There was a puff of feathers, and she was DRT. The others all took off.
Moments later the chipper zipped by the scene and into the hedge. I stayed in position and about 5 minutes later he came out and started digging up one of my wife's flower bulbs. He turned away giving me a clear shot at his head at 20 yards, I sent that one, he did a small forward flip and didn't move afterwards.
Figuring I was done I put things away to get back with my day. About an hour later, I looked out the kitchen window and saw the wood chuck that had been evading me for the last two months moving slowly across the back yard. I quickly got my gear together and into position, he stood up giving a clean shot at his head, just as I was about to send it the geese in the river decided to have a fight, which put Mr. G in a small panic, he moved a few feet away, but stopped. But the geese where not through with their fight and flew closer with one landing 10 feet away from the ground hog, all the while honking away. The ground hog started to run, but stood to see what was up, I was on him, and at 25 yards hit him in the head. He did a roll down the hill and bumped up against a lawn bench. He was still moving, but his head was facing away from me and hidden. So, I quickly put two into his heart and lungs, aiming a bit behind his front legs. He moved a bit more but exposed his head and gave me a shot behind his ear. No more movement. It seemed like an hour passed but it must have been over in less than a minute. 14 round magazines are good to have.
When I went out to clear the yard, I found the three of them were laid out in a nearly perfect straight line. From first shot to last. Weird. That's when the deer showed up in the river getting ready to come for a snack in our backyard. That one I chased away and found two more waiting for it, but it's not deer season.

Stephen, holy moly those are some excellent lobotomy skills you possess...great shooting with your Kral Mega! The shot on the teleporting chipper was quite amazing! Great pics and what a great Saturday for pesting!
