March 5th hunt at the state land

I managed to get a couple chippers and a red squirrel.  It was the only red squirrel that I seen too,  It won't be long and the reds will be coming back out with leaves coming out to keep concealed from them hawks that are constantly on the lookout for them.  That's when I'll start using my semi auto carbine again because the opportunity for closer shots will be a lot more common then.  I did get the red in the same area I got the last one at my favorite wintertime red squirrel spot.

Thanks Dave and Ken !!!  Ken I think the red squirrels are out on the ground more right now because of hawks watching closely for them.
There's a lot of ground cover for them right now, by this time next week I think the leaves will be out good on all the trees.

I envy you being able to hunt squirrels like that year round!!
