I know bubba zanetti has a similar thread, on the Benji pump, but he is filling to 3000 psi, and he rebuilt the pump himself.
I know Dan did a proper job on the rebuild.
But I thought I would cover the other side of the coin.
I had mine rebuilt by the factory, and I am filling to 2000 psi only..
So let's see how 2 Benjamin pumps fare over time by 2 different owners, in 2 different climates.
He has a head start on me, so I have some catching up to do.
I was given a used Benjamin pump, with an unknown history.
I called crosman (they own benjamin) and asked about the cost of parts, or having the pump rebuilt.
They said the pump would have to go back to the manufacturer for service as they don't service them in any way.
They gave me the number to sun optics.
I called Duane Sorenson there, a complete refurb is $25 and $5 for a new fill hose with a foster fitting.
I also decided to get the desiccant filter system they offer for $25, that also comes with an extra desiccant pack, and instructions on how to dry them out when they turn pink.
Total price was $55 shipping included.
It was returned to me in a factory box in less than a week after I sent it..
I now have a pump with a known condition to start with.
I consider myself careful with my equipment.
I intend to TRY to keep track of how many times it gets pumped.
I am sure it will have to be rebuilt some day,
but I am interested in seeing how long it goes before it has issues..
It is being used to fill a Bam B50, and with its current tune, will not see more than 2000 psi fills.

I make 2 predictions;
ON THE DATE WHEN US TROOPS ARE ISSUED AN Energy Pulse Weapon,
1. The US Soldier will have on his person a version of the Colt 1911.
2. He will be aiming the NEW Weapon at someone carrying an AK47.
