16x is legal after nationals in November. You cannot adjust your scope during the match in hunter class except for focus.

Some people shoot standing lanes at 8x or 6x (instead of 12x) for reticle control. It works for some but not all.The prohibition on adjustments applies only to windage and elevation knobs.

...Honestly, I'm not sure how much difference it's going to make. Ostensibly, a scope at 16x will be a bit better at rangefinding than at 12x, both by focus and by bracketing....
Holdover precision of a mil-dot at 16x will be 1/3 better than at 12x. Ranging by bracketing will be 1/3 better. Both of those assume that someone is stable enough to take advantage of the increased precision. Focus range finding will also be about 1/3 better regardless of stability. Where your rangefinding deviation (errors) might be 4 yards at 12x, it will be only 3 yards at 16x.

I use a Sightron SIII 10-50x60 on my Steyr LG 110 for HFT. With the new 16x rule coming it makes this scope useless for Hunter. The marks go 10- 12- 20 and up from there. With no 16x I have to shoot at 12x. Exchanged a couple of E-mails with Sightron, and was told the newer scopes have a 15x mark. Wrote back and asked if my scope could be fitted with the new ring, but never heard back. A lot of money for a scope that puts me at a disadvantage, or can't use. I wonder how many other owners have this problem. I'm in the process of changing to a Hawk Sidewinder for the last match of the year. Tom
Now to find the "Holy Grail" of 16X scopes.
I've been tempted to take a long look at these two Sightron S-TAC scopes:Charlie Frear of Georgia Airguns seems to think the 4-20X would be a good choice for Hunter Class.http://www.georgiaairguns.net/scopes.html
I ended up ordering the Sightron STAC 4-20x50mm MOA-2 from OP. I'll post back how it is.The trick is going to be the sidewheel. When I got the Athlon scope, I was able to modify the rubber and add shims to a UTG sidewheel and it fit PERFECT with absolutely zero rotational play. The teeth on the Sightron PA knob extend far enough that the knob won't fit through the metal inner hole of a UTG sidewheel. (The diameter of the knob is 34mm, but with the teeth the diameter extends to 38mm.) I'm hoping that a Hawke sidewinder wheel can fit over the knob and that I can just modify the rubber again.I found out that the Aztec Scopes are the in-house brand of AoA. I have no intention of supporting that company, so I will likely avoid that scope. If the sightron doesn't work out, I'm not sure what I would try next
