The 29-grain lead bullet that groups well at 25 yards will spread out at 50 yards, because the standard 1:16" twist of a .22 rimfire barrel (which is identical to the twist rate of most airgun barrels) is too slow to stabilize a 29-grain bullet when it moves that slow."
Hence the "I gave up"
Just curious, Has anyone used/tried a "bullet" from a .22lr round, in any of your shooter's?
Airguns of Arizona has them listed under "Prometheus", but there's no price on them. so I figure they won't be cheap, I'll see if I can find anyone on Ebay, But what I'd really like to know is how long they are,,If they won't fit into the magazines of my AT series pcp's, which are pretty shallow, I can't even use H&N Barracudas, they're a tad too long, but the Hunter's, and Hunter Extreme's fit perfectly. In the beginning part of that video, you see them side by side with what looks to be an H&N Baracuda, and it's a bit bigger, So I don't know. Pellgun Fun, Yes I am still using these. They are no long made by Dynamic since they have been bought out by H&N. They still weight in @ 30g & appear to be the same as the older Prometheus version. I haven't had an opportunity to use the new H&Ns at long range, but did do some backyard shooting one day when the wind was blowing 20mph with 25-35mph gusts. I had a hard time keeping a tight group, but not sure if it was the pellet, wind affect on the pellet or wind affect on me. The wind would gust & I was being buffeted, making it tough to hold steady. I shot four groups of five. I could keep three shots tight, but seemed to always shoot two outside that group. Once again, not sure if it was the pellet, the wind's affect on the pellet, or wind's affect on me.
