Is that some special kind of pop top?  They usually stay attached to the can or lid.  Or I can do bottle tops.

HA!  There are enough cans strewn around the roadways that I probably have at least 2 cans within 100' of my mailbox. (slobs)  The cans usually have the tabs attached, but if you bend it back and forth a few times it comes right off.

Did I miss what the 'Giveaway' was in another post?  What are we trying to win??

Here's my entry for the Umarex Pop Top Challenge, shot at 12M offhand with my Hatsan Flashpup .22.  Started with 7 tabs and shot 2 magazines of 12 shots each and had my best shooting offhand ever!  Not only did I hole two of seven I pushed four others through the paper and dented one of those four with a previous shot!  Had some fliers but I'm seriously happy with my results!

My entry (embarrassing) 7 shots (was 5 but I had two fliers and took two extra shots)  Distance: 10M  Airgun: Beeman P17, Pellets: Crosman wadcutter pellets,  with old eyes, no optics, open sights, shooting off sandbags.
Shot 1. high right
shot 2. NAILED IT (figures I'd nail the RedBull pop top)
Shot 3. (so excited about shot to, pulled it)  Low right
Shot 4. re-composed and got it in
Shot 5. slightly right (call'n it a hit)
Shot 6. (what the heck?) WIDE RIGHT
Shot 7. (That's better) bottom edge

Well I hope this will be ok. ?

Marauder .177 shot off bench @ 35 yards

All shots were at opening except the one “proper “ hit. Chickened out On 2nd can as real gusty winds were rolling in.
May try another day with the .22 Gauntlet.

Front and back of cans.

I used spray adhesive to keep the tabs in place, well, most of the tabs. This was my first try, I look forward to trying it again. I think I could do better if I didn’t run out of JSB 7.33s.

I need more practice!  But this was fun.  I always enjoy a challenge.

These were all with my Umarex Ruger 10/22 on my 10m indoor range (my garage + shop) shooting Crosman Premier Heavy 10.5gr  domed pellets.  I sit and use a saw horse for my elbow. My scope is a Field & Stream 4 x 32.

I used up the tops from all the Coke cans I haven't yet, um, ventilated.

As you might see, I ended up hitting the top instead of going through the open holes.  When that happened the whole top would go through the paper.  I put the tops back near the hole that it punched.

This was a fun challenge, though I have to admit, the last photo shows how I prefer to address empty soda cans.

I'm in...
To be honest..
I pulled the Gen I FD-PCP off the wall where it had been hanging for several months. Aired it up to 1900 psi and took it to the bench.
As you can see from the second pic, I am 21yds to POI, benched and rested.
First three shots out of the gun..... 14.3 CPUM.

And keeping with the "Pay it Forward" spirit of the forum..... in the unlikely event I win this gun... I will do just as I did in the last contest...
I will pick one of my guns (TBA) and have Travis pull a second name from the hat. That name will also win a gun.
Good luck to all.

Shooting with iron sites at about 13-15m in my garage, shooting “off hand” (is thisthe right term for not propping oneself against anything but just sort of free shooting?) talonP.  I fired 2-3 shots at each top.

This is my entry to the Umarex Pop Top Challenge.  I took a total of 14 consecutive bench rest Shots on 2 targets in my basement range at a distance of 24 Feet using my vintage RWS Diana 52 with 8.4 gr. JSB Exact Diabolo pellets.

I’m a novice guys, so be gentle.

I will say this pop top was quite a target set. I enjoyed it so much in fact that I think I’m going to make it part of my practice shooting.

I used .177 crosman 7.4gr. wadcutters.  Shooting from 20 yards on my 1377 with plastic breech and Simmons 4x32 (junky) scope. I’m waiting to get some cash to put a steel breech on it to tighten up the scope.

The top was was a flyer and the paper is photocopied pop tops so I can use the ironical to keep making copies.

Is all I have to do to enter is post a pic to this thread?
I wasn't interested until I realized the gun would make a good gift or giveaway item. I have no idea who'd I give it to. So, I'll think on it.

I was shooting my .22cal, 16J LGV at 25 yd from a bench. Pellets used were 14.66gr H&N FTT. Handicaps: Soaking in sweat, paying more attention to the mosquitoes than the reticle, after being at work all day, new to me gun, never used these pellets before, pellet tin was dented, and +. I had to make sure pellets would fit through the holes of the tabs. After the tabs passed the drop through test, I taped the tabs with packing tape to paper which was taped to cardboard that was not flat. After shooting a bunch of sight-in shots (those are the red dots), I managed to get one shot through a hole. The very last one of course! On the lower right corner of the paper. Close up shot and before, after pics are provided. I had to keep reminding myself that where the pellet first makes contact with the target and where it ends up actually penetrating the tape and paper are two different locations because everything begins to move in weird ways once that first contact is made.

Here is my entry using a Mutant 22 cal at 50 yards in 5 to 10 mph swirling winds. I had some sighter shots at the green stickers before I started the challenge. I shot at 8 Mt dew zero pop tops that are black in color and two of them got eject from the cardboard backer and I was unable to find them. I took shots at each one while trying to read the wind until it was hit.  Each does have a hit on the pop top with top left and top right one having perfect holes thru the hole in the pop top. All others were either grazed or blown thru the cardboard with dead on solid hits to the pop top. My mutant is easily capable of 1/2" groups at 50 yards in zero wind condition.  The wind just made the challenge even more interesting. If you zoom on the second pic you can see the cardboard backer out at the 50 yard post.

Seriously though, it was all fun right!

Many and big thanks go to JB and Umarex for offering the great gun for a prize, just to motivate us to do what we do anyway! Lol

And special thanks to Travis for putting it on and dealing with all the questions.

Travis will be posting in due time about the future path of this gun. I’ve donated it to GTA to use as needed for fund raising, etc.

Best, James

James, congrats and thanks for participating! I won a chance drawing once (just once) and was utterly surprised. I'm so unlucky I usually just leave entries to others. On behalf of all of us at Umarex USA, thank you ALL. We can't take much credit. The Old Pro Travis did the heavy lifting. It's fun for us to see the videos, pictures, and different levels of creativity come together to create a community of fun. Again, THANK YOU ALL.
